BULAN BARU (which translates from Indonesian as 'New Moon') is a traditional Indonesian Phinisi wooden boat.  It was constructed in Bira, Sulawesi by local boat builders using iron wood for the main structure and teak for the interior. The use of wood and the continuation of time-old building traditions gives a Phinisi a unique ambience, perfect for cruising tropical locations.

Bulan Baru has air conditioning and sleeps up to 10 guests in large beds with extra thick mattresses (we know how important a good sleep is after a long day of surfing!).  Above the sleeping area and on the main deck is the main room for dining and recreation. This is a large, very light area with plenty of seating and table space.

Leaving the main room you enter a spacious seating area at the back of the boat. Great for relaxing after a meal or a surf ... and a lovely place to fall asleep as we journey from one surf spot to another.

At the front of the boat we have a raised sun deck, ideal for catching some rays or, with the tender providing shade, somewhere to simply enjoy the sites and sounds of cruising along.

Finally there's the spacious top deck.  A place built for relaxation with sunloungers and daybeds and plenty of seating.  It's the perfect vantage point to see the waves and surrounding scenery ... and at night, cooled by the sea breeze, somewhere to fall asleep under the stars.

In order to get you to and from the waves we have a 5m zodiac with a 40hp engine, ideal for getting you where you want to be, fast. We also have a 4m tinny, excellent for trawling while the other guests surf. In addition our boat has the following:

  • Jetski (available on request)

  • Television & Media library
